PVL UK Ltd is delighted to announce that we won two awards at the prestigious Gatwick Diamond Business Awards.
We were finalists in three categories, we won Business of the Year and our CEO Nick Broom won Business Person of the Year and we were runners up for the Award for Innovation & Technology.
The Gatwick Diamond is home to a wide range of businesses, spanning all sectors from household names to niche companies and from multinationals to sole traders. The event celebrates businesses, organisations and people who have shown innovation and inspiration in their work, demonstrating a real commitment to this fast-developing region. Over 600 people came to celebrate the awards and recognise the achievements of their fellow GDB members.

The Judges from NatWest said – “As market leaders in their field, PVL has been an active part of updating and enforcing legislation to ensure the latest technology is used to provide protection and visibility. All employees share the businesses core objectives, values and ethos, which are encouraged by exceptional senior leadership. This business makes sure their innovative products are used in emergency services all around the world with a committed vision to saving lives and stopping accidents.”
Business Person of the Year 2019
The Judges from KPMG said – “Nick has clearly shown quality leadership at PVL balancing the need to think strategically as demonstrated by overseas expansion and continuously thinking about product development, utilising what made the company successful, but finding new usage away from a saturated core market and being willing to get his hands dirty. He has strengthened his leadership team and ensured the right person is doing the right job – including himself! Nick has put the company is in an excellent position to take advantage of the opportunities ahead.”

The Award for Innovation & Technology
This Award category celebrates the successful application of innovation and technology within a business. The judges were looking for companies to demonstrate how innovation and technology are used within their business to improve their operational efficiency and/or to provide a competitive advantage in their products or services.
Nick Broom, CEO said “I am so proud of the PVL team and what we have been recognised for with these awards. I was satisfactorily delighted to make finalists in three awards , but to win outright in two has exceeded our hopes. We’ve used the awards entry, judging process and feedback as a mechanism to gain impartial feedback on the entire business from an external perspective and brought changes in where we’ve felt it would make us a better business to work for and with.
