The commission
PVL were approached by ATG Access with an urgent requirement for Livery to be supplied and fitted to 23 Surface Guard Barriers which are used to temporarily secure an area of public realm or event space. This job required a very fast turnaround, as PVL were approached on Monday and the barriers were needing to be fitted on Friday the same week. The request came in response to the pedestrianisation of an area within a city centre. This was in a bid to enable workers and visitors to social distance during the weeks following the nationwide lockdown due to the COVID-19 global pandemic and encourage them back into our cities.
The approach
Between our Sales, Operations and Design team, we discussed and agreed the timescale supplied by the customer and if it was achievable. Once a timescale was set, we produced visuals for the customer from graphics supplied by ATG for approval and put the kits into production once received.
The result
ATG Access had 23 complete Surface Guards to apply to a busy area of Manchester City Centre to pedestrianize an area following lockdown. All graphics were supplied on time and the customer was very happy with the product and the speed in which PVL turned their request around.
The testimony
ATG Access had an urgent requirement to vinyl wrap a few our security barriers ahead of a pedestrianisation scheme being rolled out at short notice. After approaching PVL, they went above and beyond to assist us with our client request. They responded incredibly professionally, and their fitters worked with various social distancing measures and additional safety instructions to ensure they were safe during the completion of the project. The end aesthetic of the barriers was fantastic. Having had the barriers installed for nearly 6 weeks now, the covers still look great and have received many compliments from the general public.
